take the tram up to the buda castle for an up close look at this beautiful castle and striking views of the city.

budapest is famous for their thermal baths. szechenyi baths is one of the most beautiful buildings with several soaking pools and saunas. book a massage to really treat yourself.

on your way to the szechenyi baths stroll through the heroes square into the napozoret park where you find an outdoor hungarian food market that surrounds the vajdahunyad castle.

ruin bars are literally the ruins of budapest from wwii in old district vii neighborhood which was the jewish quarter.  this district is now home to restaurants and several ruin bars.

make a reservation at faust wine cellars for a unique wine tasting experience in hillside of the buda castle district. it is accessible through the hilton hotel, but don’t let that throw you- the atmosphere is wonderful.

  • mazel tov very trendy and fun restaurant in the heart of the ruin bars.

  • déryné chic bistro popular for brunch on the buda side.

  • gerbeaud is famous for their pastries and cakes. go here for a traditional breakfast.

  • great market hall is an historic three story food market. stroll through the market to pick up souvenirs- budapest is famous for their paprika. be sure to head to second floor a traditional hungarian lángos which is fluffy deep fried served with toppings of your choice.

  • szimpla kert is the original and probably most famous of the ruin bars.

  • grandio is actually a ruin bar and a hostel, but don’t let that stop you.

  • espresso embassy coffee shop with a cool industrial feel

  • 360 bar has stunning view of the city.

  • retrock is a vintage store that is fun browse through- you never know what you’ll find.
